Summer is just around the corner and there’s 43 awesome events and 10 activities that you need to know about.   Whether you live in Cleveland, Ohio, the surrounding areas or are out of state, all the activities we’ve listed are things you can do with your dog.  The events listed below are all Northeast Ohio based.   Let’s get started, it’s time to have some fun this summer!

10 Activities To Do With Your Dog This Summer

1.)  Go Swimming –  Swimming is a safe, fun and healthy activity for both you and your dog to participate in.  On the hot summer days, jump in to the pool or Lake Erie and bring your dog with you!

2.)  Go on a Hike –  The Cleveland Metroparks features more than 21,000 acres of territory.  Bring out a frisbee and let it fly!

3.)  Go to the Movies – Drive Inn movie theaters still exist in Northeast Ohio and most are pet friendly.  Bring the family and don’t forget about the pooch the next time you decide to go!

4.)  Go Kayaking – Yes you can!  Your dog will be able to accompany you through the Rocky River Metroparks on your Kayak.  Give it a go, it’s really fun!

5.)  Go Camping – Camping is always great, get outside, enjoy the natural environment and let your dog expand his territory and enjoy new sights, sounds and smells in the process.

6.)  Go to the Beach – Bring your dog to the shores of Lake Erie, he will love the sand.  Go for an early morning walk or a late night jog, or just bring him along to catch some sun.  Don’t forget to include #1 in this if you decide to go.  Even if he’s a first timer, he still can get his paws wet!

7.)  Sprinklers, Farmers Market & More – Outdoor activities that are fun include sprinklers, slip and slides, pools and so on.  In addition, don’t forget about the Westside Market (and the numerous others in the Cleveland area) where you can freely walk outdoors to do your shopping with mans best friend right by your side.

8.)  Ice Cream!  Of course it’s hot and there’s no better time for ice cream than during the summer time, don’t forget to get a small sundae cup for your pooch the next time he tags along with (or without you).

9.)  Go to a Restaurant – Be sure to inquire first, but you’d be amazed at how many open patios allow well mannered dogs to accompany their owners during dinner time.  It surely isn’t something that’s for every dog lover, then again, it’s always something new!

10.)  Participate in one of the events listed in our 43 events below.  There’s so much to do this summer with your dog in the Cleveland Ohio area so don’t miss out!
